Our Founding

The events leading up to the beginning of Stonepoint Church are as follows:

  • In the Fall of 2010, a small group of friends met to prayerfully to discuss the possibility of a new local church in Van Zandt County.
  • After much prayer, deliberation, and counsel from others, it became increasingly clear that a local church in Wills Point would be planted with the help of several families and eventually dozens more.
  • In January of 2011, after a series of gatherings, meetings, and thoughtful discussions, a group of over 40 people agreed to commit to full devotion in Christ for God's glory and the good of others.
  • Stonepoint was founded on April 17, 2011, and has since grown to two campuses that seek to exalt Christ and edify one another. As a result, hundreds of lives have been changed through God's grace.

Stonepoint Today

Stonepoint is NOT a perfect church. Matter of fact, our faith family is full of broken people in need of God's grace each day. We don’t have perfect leaders, but we do have a perfect God, and a clear mission from His Word to see imperfect people transformed into fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ.

Stonepoint is an autonomous local church, led by our Elders who seek to "equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ."

Why we exist
Stonepoint exists today to help others belong and equip the flock to become fully-devoted followers of Christ by connecting them to God, to others, in service, and to the world.
