Is making amends a way of life for you?

  1. Repay no one evil for evil, but give thought to do what is honorable in the sight of all. If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all. Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it[a] to the wrath of God, for it is written, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.” To the contrary, “if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink; for by so doing you will heap burning coals on his head.”
    Romans 12:17-20 (ESV)

  2. “Whoever desires to love life and see good days, let him keep his tongue from evil  and his lips from speaking deceit; let him turn away from evil and do good;  let him seek peace and pursue it. For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears are open to their prayer. But the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.”
    1 Peter 3:10-12 (ESV)

  3. And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good,[a] for those who are called according to his purpose.
    Romans 8:28 (ESV)

  4. Strive for peace with everyone, and for the holiness without which no one will see the Lord.
    Hebrews 12:14 (ESV)

  5. Therefore, having put away falsehood, let each one of you speak the truth with his neighbor, for we are members one of another. Be angry and do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger, and give no opportunity to the devil.
    Ephesians 4:25-27 (ESV)

  6. . . . for at one time you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light (for the fruit of light is found in all that is good and right and true), and try to discern what is pleasing to the Lord. Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them.
    Ephesians 5:8-11 (ESV)

  7. So Jesus said to the Jews who had believed him, “If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
    John 8:31-32 (ESV)

  8. Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.
    Proverbs 3:5-6 (ESV)

  9. He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?
    Micah 6:8 (ESV)

  10. Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves.  Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.
    Philippians 2:3-4 (ESV)
